Ali Harter (born June 20, 1984) is an American singer/songwriter from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She has played in several bands, but primarily as a solo musician for over fifteen years. Harter is a veteran of the national and international music scene.

Harter’s efforts have won her contests and accolades including 2012’s Comanche Casino Idol, where she won the chance to sing with with Garth Brooks’ long time guitar player, Ty England. Harter has also be awarded a Woody Guthrie Award for ‘Best New Singer-Songwriter’.

Ali has been fortunate enough to share the stage with such acts as: John Mayall, Meg & Dia, Magnolia Electric Co., Steel Train, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, War of Ages, Flee the Seen, and has shared festival billing with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Leon Russell, Ben Harper, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Amos Lee, Limbeck, The Black Crowes, Cake, Damone as well as many others.

Ali’s partnership with WARM Music/Big Green Bamboo, a European publishing company, gave her an opportunity to explore the commercial side of the music industry. Ali has written and recorded original music for television add campaigns and has had music featured in a number of movies and television shows. On Mar 4th, 2010, two songs from Harter's 2007 album Worry the Bone were featured on the popular ABC prime-time drama Grey's Anatomy. The songs You Can Keep 'Em and Untitled No. 3 were featured on episode 16 Perfect Little Accident of Season 6.

Ali has performed on innumerable recordings for artists across the US and Europe. Ali can be heard collaborating on the 2009 Wax Tailor album, In The Mood For Life, on the first single, which she co-wrote with Wax Tailor and New Orleans' 'Voice', titled, This Train. Following the records release, all collaborating artists were presented a gold record for In The Mood For Life at L’Olympia in Paris France during a two night, sold out, album release event.

In 2013 Harter began recording her third record, Near The Knuckle. Due to a series of catastrophic life events, the album was shelved in 2015. Ali continued to play shows until 2017, all the while attempting to finish the project. The sudden death of her father that year resulted in a life altering struggle with depression and drinking. The residuals of that grief were being kicked off of NBC’s the voice, numerous canceled shows, what seemed like an early retirement, and an abandoned album.

Over the next 2 years Harter focused on family and healing. In early 2019 she announced that she and her family were on the mend, the album was back on track, and though it would most likely be her last release, it would be coming out later that year.

2019 will see Ali’s music featured in a French marketing campaign for Microsoft, the release of her last album, ‘Near The Knuckle’, a few local appearances, a regional tour to support the album, as well as many more musical, artistic, and philanthropic endeavors which have yet to be announced.

Ali currently lives in her childhood home in Oklahoma with her two children, Bonnie & Ryland.
